Over a Thousand Afghan Migrants Return Home After Release from Pakistani Detention

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has reported the return of 1,099 Afghan migrants who were released from prisons and detention centers in Pakistan. These individuals entered the country through official borders at Torkham and Spin Boldak after receiving initial aid.

Recent announcements from the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation indicate a notable increase in the repatriation of Afghan detainees from Pakistan. In the last 24 hours, 1,099 Afghan migrants have returned to their homeland after being released from detention facilities in the neighboring country, entering Afghanistan via various border routes.

Distribution of Returnees at Border Crossings

According to the ministry’s reports, these citizens returned through the two main crossings: Torkham and Spin Boldak. Specifically, 896 individuals crossed through Torkham in Nangarhar province, while 203 entered via Spin Boldak in Kandahar province.

Provision of Urgent Assistance and Safe Transport to Hometowns

Ministry officials have emphasized that all returnees underwent a thorough registration of their identity and biometric data before receiving humanitarian assistance and initial support. Following preliminary checks at the border, arrangements were made for their safe transport to their main areas of residence.
