Senior NADRA Officials Arrested in Karachi

The FIA has announced the dismantling of an illegal identity document issuance network and the arrest of four individuals in Karachi. According to released information, two of those arrested are high-ranking officials from NADRA, who were implicated in these subversive activities.

Identities of the Suspects and Operation of the Counterfeiting Network

Official police reports indicate that the arrested individuals include Inam-ul-Haq and Fayyaz Ahmed, who are deputy heads at NADRA, a security officer, and a person named Muhammad Umar Shah, who acted as a broker between the applicants and the agency employees. During searches of their operational sites, documents, records, and equipment related to the misuse of official systems were confiscated.

Manipulation of Official Systems and Issuance of Fake Documents

Preliminary findings suggest that the suspects exploited their professional authority and manipulated the database and official records to issue illegal identity documents and certificates for certain Afghan citizens. A spokesperson for the FIA noted that efforts to identify and apprehend other potential members of this network will intensify in the coming days.
