Allegations of India-Taliban Cooperation in Armed Group Activities in Afghanistan

According to claims from Pakistani intelligence sources, India and the Taliban are allegedly collaborating to utilize Afghan territory for funding and training armed groups. These assertions remain unverified, and both parties have denied them.

India and Taliban Collaboration in Attacks Against Pakistan

Pakistani intelligence sources allege that the Indian foreign intelligence service and Taliban officials are working together to exploit Afghan territory for the training and funding of armed groups operating in the Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. A report by the Pakistani newspaper ‘D News’ cites a secret intelligence document indicating that this network includes Indian intelligence, Taliban intelligence, and senior officials from the Kabul government.

The report also highlights claims that have not been independently verified. Both India and the Taliban have previously denied similar accusations. According to Pakistani intelligence sources, the Baloch Liberation Army and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan are identified as the primary groups within this network benefiting from external funding and training.

Furthermore, the report notes the involvement of Al-Qaeda in this network, suggesting that the group is also preparing to launch attacks within Pakistan. This new claim indicates that the relationship between the Baloch Liberation Army and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan has been developing since 2025, with these groups operating in training camps in Afghanistan under Taliban intelligence’s support.

According to ‘D News’, Pakistani security officials assert that Taliban intelligence has taken measures to draw closer the Baloch Liberation Army and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, along with other armed groups, while Indian intelligence plays a role in financing the Baloch separatists.

The report mentions that the decision to finance coordinated attacks by the Baloch Liberation Army and the ‘TTP’ was made during one of the network’s meetings in July 2026, with India reportedly allocating over $7.8 million specifically for this purpose.
