The Taliban’s police department in Farah province announced that ten Afghan citizens were shot and killed by Iranian border guards while trying to cross illegally into Iran.

Mohammad Nasim Badri, spokesperson for the Farah police command, confirmed this information in a statement via the X platform, adding that two other individuals are also missing after the incident.

According to Badri, these individuals were attempting to enter Iranian territory illegally through the Sheikh Abunasar Farahi port. He emphasized that the Iranian soldiers opened fire on a group of residents intending to cross the border illegally, resulting in the deaths of the ten individuals.

So far, Iranian officials have not issued any official statements regarding the shooting and the deaths of these Afghan nationals.

However, Iranian authorities have previously warned that strict actions will be taken against anyone attempting to cross the border illegally.
