Turkish police beat Afghan refugees

According to local media reports, Turkish police have violently cracked down on protests by Afghan refugees and beaten them.

Dozens of Afghan asylum seekers have been detained by Turkish police in Izmir. One of the asylum seekers told the media that at least 200 asylum seekers have been detained at a Turkish police station for the past two days and do not have access to adequate food and water.
