China calls for lifting sanctions against Syria

While expressing concern about Syria’s acute health, energy and economic crises, China’s deputy permanent representative demanded the cancellation of unilateral sanctions against Damascus.

Dai Bing, Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, said China wants to immediately lift the sanctions imposed on Syria.

China once again calls on the relevant countries to wholly and immediately cancel the unilateral sanctions against Syria, Dai Bing added.

Earlier, the Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed surprise at the criminal act of the US in openly looting the oil and wheat of the Syrian people and declared that these actions aggravate the humanitarian disaster.
