Abdul Karim Khurram, the former head of the office of former President Hamid Karzai, revealed a controversial scenario regarding U.S.-Afghan relations on Saturday (December 8) through a message on social media platform X. He alleged that the U.S. intends to return thousands of Afghans trained by American intelligence agencies to Afghanistan, citing the recent shooting incident involving members of the national guard as a rationale for this action.

Khurram pointed to the U.S.’s robust response to the recent attack, suggesting that the underlying motive remains obscured. He stated, “The intensity of the response to the attack on the two national guard members demonstrates that the White House has been eagerly anticipating such an opportunity. It would not be surprising if, under this pretext, thousands of CIA recruits who were taken to the U.S. are sent back to Afghanistan, particularly since the accused Afghan was also a member of these forces.” According to Khurram, it is possible that the assailant (Rahmanullah Luknwal) was also part of these trained units, and Washington might be using this incident to purge forces that it may no longer deem necessary.
