Taliban Foreign Minister Asserts Afghanistan’s Sovereignty on Independence Day

Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban’s Foreign Minister, emphasized during a celebration of Afghanistan’s Independence Day that the Taliban will not permit anyone to achieve foreign agendas and stressed that Afghanistan’s security is interconnected with that of its neighboring countries.

Taliban: Foreign Agendas Will Not Be Executed in the Region

During the ceremony marking the 107th anniversary of Afghanistan’s independence, Amir Khan Muttaqi stated that regional countries have come to understand that the Taliban will not allow foreign objectives to be realized in the area. He asserted that the security of Afghanistan is linked to the security of its neighboring nations, urging regional countries to acknowledge this reality.

Muttaqi pointed out the external attempts aimed at creating instability and distrust within Afghanistan, insisting that countries which engage positively with the Taliban have benefitted from this approach, while those that have not faced negative consequences. He remarked that “astute” nations have learned from past experiences and now recognize that the Taliban will block the fulfillment of foreign demands in the region.

Praise for Taliban’s Security and Defense Forces

Continuing his remarks, the Taliban’s Foreign Minister commended the security and defense forces of the government, stating that these forces have neutralized enemy plots from their inception and have stood firm against any threats. Muttaqi also reiterated that the people of Afghanistan will not accept any impositions from foreigners and will resist and progress in proportion to the pressure applied.
