Taliban Foreign Minister Declares Commitment to National Sovereignty on Independence Day

Amir Khan Mottaki, the Taliban Foreign Minister, emphasized during a ceremony commemorating Afghanistan’s Independence Day that the Taliban will not allow anyone to pursue foreign interests in the country and that Afghanistan’s security is linked to the security of its neighboring countries.

Taliban: Foreign Objectives Will Not Be Realized in the Region

On the occasion of Afghanistan’s 107th Independence Day, Amir Khan Mottaki stated that regional countries have come to recognize that the Taliban will not permit foreign objectives to be realized in the area. He added that the security of Afghanistan is intertwined with the security of its neighbors, urging regional countries to acknowledge this fact.

Mottaki pointed out the foreign efforts aimed at creating instability and distrust in Afghanistan, stating that any country that has engaged positively with the Taliban government has benefited from that approach, while those that have not have suffered losses. He remarked that the ‘aware’ nations have learned from past experiences and now understand that the Taliban will not allow foreign demands to be implemented in the region.

Commendation for Taliban Security and Defense Forces

The Taliban Foreign Minister continued his speech by praising the security and defense forces of the government, stating that these forces have thwarted all schemes of adversaries at their inception and have shown resilience against any threats. Mottaki emphasized that the Afghan people will not accept any directives from foreign entities, asserting that the more pressure they face, the stronger they will resist and advance.
