According to a new decree by Sheikh Hibatullah, the leader of the Taliban, men and women will now be buried separately in Afghan cemeteries. This order has been officially sent from Kandahar’s office to the Taliban’s Prime Minister for implementation.
This new ruling has caused significant disputes among Taliban officials. Reports indicate that the Taliban Prime Minister has not yet issued the order for implementation and has contacted Sheikh Hibatullah’s office to express the cabinet’s opposition. The Taliban cabinet argues that this decree contradicts Islamic and Sharia principles and has requested its withdrawal.
In response, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Taliban’s Prime Minister, has warned the Taliban spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, against publishing this decree. He believes that enforcing this order may cause public distress and further complications for the Taliban government.
Some analysts believe that Sheikh Hibatullah is using this decree to create tensions among Taliban officials and provoke internal disputes for his political advantage. This move could reflect deepening internal divisions within the Taliban, where the group’s leader seeks to strengthen his position against the cabinet and ministers.
