Taliban Blames Pakistan for Airstrikes Amid Domestic Crisis

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban, has accused Pakistan of diverting attention from its domestic crises by conducting airstrikes in Afghanistan. He described these actions as attempts to shift public focus away from the internal problems facing Pakistan.

Taliban’s Accusation Against Pakistan Following Airstrikes

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban government, made a speech in Kandahar Province, accusing Islamabad of conducting airstrikes over Afghan territory. He characterized these attacks as a deliberate effort to distract the public from Pakistan’s internal issues.

Mujahid mentioned the political and economic failures of Pakistan’s leaders, arguing that they are attempting to divert attention from ongoing civil rights restrictions and widespread protests by creating border tensions. He also claimed that the airstrikes are in line with a failure to uphold commitments under a joint military agreement with Saudi Arabia and Turkey, known as the “Makkah Pact.”

Taliban Issues Warning to Pakistani Military

He accused the generals of the Pakistani military of adopting misguided policies that jeopardize the lives of citizens and emphasized that the Taliban would respond appropriately and reciprocally to the “bullying approach of the Pakistani military regime.”

This statement comes after Pakistani fighter jets bombed ten positions within Afghanistan early Thursday morning. Islamabad has referred to this action as a defense of its sovereignty against the influence of unmanned aerial vehicles.
