Taliban Leader Advocates for Unity and Integrity in Eid Message

The Taliban leader, in a message celebrating Eid al-Fitr, emphasized the importance of building positive relationships with the world based on Islamic principles, called for the non-interference of countries in Afghanistan’s internal affairs, and urged collective efforts to combat corruption and strengthen national unity.

Foreign Policy Centered on Islamic Brotherhood and Mutual Respect

Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, outlined the fundamental principles of both domestic and foreign policy in a comprehensive message on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. He stated that Kabul seeks to foster good relations with the Islamic world based on religious brotherhood while also aspiring for mutually beneficial relationships with other nations, grounded in mutual respect and Islamic values. He emphasized the importance of political independence and urged all countries to respect the beliefs and values of the Afghan people, refraining from any interference in Afghanistan’s internal matters.

Fighting Corruption and Accountability of Religious Institutions

A significant portion of the leader’s Eid message focused on internal issues and social reforms. Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada highlighted the activities of the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, calling upon all governmental institutions and the general populace to collaborate with this ministry to eradicate corruption at various levels. He also described the role of scholars as crucial in society, stressing that religious leaders have a duty to work toward reforming the beliefs of the youth, preventing immoral acts, and promoting virtuous conduct within the community.

In his message, the leader of the Islamic Emirate regarded the dignity and pride of Muslims as dependent on unity and coherence. He urged the citizens of Afghanistan to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and to steer clear of any ethnic, linguistic, or regional biases. He firmly supported the country’s security and defense forces as guardians of the Islamic system, deeming obedience to authorities essential for solidifying the foundations of the Islamic government. He believes that only through unity and steering away from discord can national stability and strength be sustained.

At the conclusion of his message, Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada emphasized the necessity of enhancing educational and training programs within the country. He called on the relevant officials to invest more in launching educational initiatives and corrective programs aimed at the youth’s development. Additionally, regarding the influx of returning Afghan refugees from neighboring countries, the leader of the Islamic Emirate appealed to the religious population to welcome these compatriots and extend support in meeting their needs alongside the government.
