The Afghan Journalists Center has reported that the Taliban’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has suspended the operations of 17 radio and television channels in Nangarhar.
In a statement, the center noted that the Ministry of Communications of the Taliban has warned these media outlets that they will not be permitted to resume operations until they settle their outstanding taxes.
According to the Afghan Journalists Center, the Telecommunication Services Regulatory Authority (ETRA), managed by the Taliban’s Ministry of Communications, has communicated this decision to the media owners both verbally and in writing.
