According to the Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Judge Khadim Hussain Soomro stated that the Afghan embassy should collaborate with the Pakistani embassy on this matter. These 87 students entered Pakistan in 2023 with one-year visas.

These students are currently looking to extend their student visas and maintain their residency status in Pakistan. Meanwhile, the Taliban government in Afghanistan has yet to respond to this situation.

According to the International Organization for Migration, over one hundred thousand Afghans have been returned to Afghanistan from these two countries in the past month.
