Beatrix von Storch, a representative of the Alternative for Germany party, has called on the government to promptly send back Afghan migrants involved in crimes or with rejected asylum applications. On her X page, she stated that if the German military can evacuate local allies from Afghanistan, it should also use military aircraft to return criminals to their homeland.

New German Government Has Returned 250 Afghan Migrants to Their Country

According to reports, since the coalition government of Germany took office in April 2025, approximately 250 Afghan migrants have been sent back to Afghanistan. Recently, 22 Afghans convicted of serious crimes were transferred back to their home country via a charter flight.

Increased Pressure on Afghan Migrants in Germany Following Alternative Party’s Success

Afghan media activist Khushal Asifi commented on the new pressures facing Afghan migrants, stating that such pressures are expected. He noted that any opposition party that gains more votes naturally applies pressure on the government, which, in turn, affects the Afghan community residing in the country.

Significant Increase in Afghan Asylum Applications in Germany

Despite Germany accelerating the deportation of Afghan migrants, the number of asylum applications from Afghans has notably risen. In the first half of this year alone, over 39,000 individuals sought asylum, with more than 47% of these applications being accepted. Afghans represent the highest acceptance rate among all nationalities.

Key Reasons Behind High Acceptance Rates of Afghan Asylum Applications

One of the primary factors contributing to the high acceptance rate of Afghan asylum applications was the 2024 ruling by the European Union Court of Justice, which stated that asylum requests from Afghan women must be granted due to the serious dangers they face under Taliban rule in Afghanistan.
