خبرنگار 550x295 - Reporters Without Borders: The United Nations must take immediate action to protect journalists in Afghanistan

Reporters Without Borders wrote a letter to Richard Bennett, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation in Afghanistan, calling for immediate action to protect journalists and the freedom of the media in the country.

The organization says the situation with media freedom in Afghanistan has deteriorated dramatically.

Reporters Without Borders’ letter states that Afghan journalists are being arbitrarily arrested and that new restrictions have been imposed on them and the media in the country.

Reporters Without Borders says the Taliban arrested at least 50 media workers between August 15, 2021, and February 4, 2022.
