Increased exports of Afghan carpets last year

Ariana News Agency: Afghanistan’s carpet exports in 2021 compared to the previous year has increased by about 30 percent.

Noor Ahmad Nouri, President of the Afghan Carpet Weavers Union, confirmed the increase in the country’s carpet exports in 2021 and said: “During this period, about 900,000 square meters of carpets have been exported to other countries.”

“In 2020, the number of Afghan carpet exports was 700,000 square meters,” Nouri added.

Most Afghan carpets are exported to the United States, Europe, Canada, Russia, China and Australia.

Carpet is one of the main export items of Afghanistan.
