Former US Ambassador: Washington has betrayed the Afghan people

Ariana News Agency: The Former Chargé d’Affairs at the US Embassy in Afghanistan Hugo Llorens said: “The decisions of the Trump and Biden administrations were one of the main reasons for the fall of the Afghan government.”

He criticized Trump’s agreement with the Taliban and the continued implementation of this unconditional agreement under the Biden administration and said that Washington “betrayed” the Afghan people by failing to fulfill its commitments to Afghanistan.

Llorens also called the situation of ethnic minorities in Afghanistan a matter of concern and stressed the need to respect their rights.
