Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Set Ambitious $3 Billion Export Target to Afghanistan

During the meeting, economic officials from both countries highlighted the growing demand in the Afghan market and the available capacities for expanding trade. Such factors can create new avenues to strengthen their commercial relations.

In addition to exports, discussions regarding the import of raw minerals from Afghanistan are ongoing. Negotiations are underway to facilitate the supply of certain minerals, such as zinc, for the large Almalyk mining and metallurgical complex in Uzbekistan.

Officials from the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce emphasized strategies to reduce transportation costs and logistics for goods transfer during the meeting. They have suggested utilizing the capacity of Turkish freight vehicles for this purpose.

Strengthening Trade Cooperation along Routes to Afghanistan

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have also agreed to enhance their trade cooperation along routes leading to Afghanistan and other southern countries in the region. This collaboration will involve sending trade delegations and expanding their presence in new markets.
