Reports indicate that Kazakhstan’s exports to Afghanistan in the first seven months of this year have reached approximately $500 million, which matches the total exports of the previous year.

Economic Officials Discuss Growth Opportunities

At this meeting, economic officials from both countries emphasized the growing demand in the Afghan market and the existing capacities for enhancing trade. These factors could open new avenues for strengthening trade relations.

New Trade Opportunities for Afghanistan through Central Asian Cooperation

In addition to exports, discussions regarding the import of raw mineral materials from Afghanistan are also ongoing. Negotiations are underway related to the large Almalyk mining and metallurgy complex in Uzbekistan for securing certain minerals, such as zinc.

Developing Afghanistan’s Trade Relations with Neighboring Countries

Officials from Uzbekistan’s Chamber of Commerce highlighted strategies to reduce transportation costs and transfer of goods during this meeting. They proposed utilizing the capacity of Turkish cargo trucks for these purposes.

Strengthening Trade Cooperation Along Routes to Afghanistan

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have also agreed to enhance their trade cooperation along routes leading to Afghanistan and other southern regional countries. This collaboration will involve sending business delegations and expanding their presence in new markets.
