Detention of Over 50 Afghan Nationals in Turkey

Turkish law enforcement authorities in the Canakkale province have apprehended 55 Afghan citizens who were reportedly involved in illegal plans to travel abroad.

Following due legal processes at the police department, the individuals were subsequently relocated to the designated repatriation facility for foreign nationals in Ayvacik.

In the course of this operation, security personnel also took into custody five individuals on suspicion of engaging in migrant smuggling activities.

Moreover, the authorities seized 23 life jackets and discovered 18,000 Turkish liras during searches conducted at their residences.
