Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban’s Minister of Internal Affairs, has stated that the liberation of Palestine is a prerequisite for Afghanistan’s victory and emphasized solidarity with the people of Gaza.
At a ceremony marking the fifth anniversary of the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul, Sirajuddin Haqqani highlighted that Afghanistan’s true victory will only be realized when the Palestinians achieve freedom.
Haqqani pointed out the dire circumstances faced by the Palestinian people, asserting that the joy of the Afghan populace cannot be complete until the people of Gaza and Jerusalem are liberated. He deemed any victory as insignificant, citing the extensive suffering of the people of Gaza as a source of shame for the world’s merely verbal support.
Haqqani expressed his hope that God grants freedom to the people of Gaza and called for Muslim solidarity to support them. He remarked that the Afghan people share both the joys and sorrows of the Palestinian community.
The Taliban’s Interior Minister praised the resilience of the Palestinian people, indicating that their pain and suffering are unforgettable. Taliban officials have previously voiced their support for Palestinian rights as well.
Additionally, Mullah Hassan Akhund, the Prime Minister of the Taliban government, has previously stressed the importance of supporting the Palestinian Muslims, asserting that their plight should be at the forefront of global attention.
