Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban’s Minister of Interior, emphasized that the liberation of Jerusalem is a prerequisite for Afghanistan’s victory and called for solidarity with the people of Gaza.
In a ceremony marking the fifth anniversary of the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul, Sirajuddin Haqqani stressed that true victory for Afghanistan will only be realized when the Palestinian people are free.
Haqqani pointed to the dire situation faced by the Palestinian people, stating that until Gaza and Jerusalem are liberated, true happiness for the Afghan people will remain elusive. He described current victories as insignificant, noting that the extent of suffering in Gaza brings shame to the merely verbal responses from the international community.
Haqqani expressed a desire for God to grant freedom to the people of Gaza, urging Muslims everywhere to awaken and support them. He conveyed that the Afghan people share in both the joys and sorrows of the Palestinian populace.
The Taliban’s Interior Minister praised the resilience of the Palestinian people, adding that their pain and suffering is unforgettable. Taliban officials have previously reiterated their support for Palestinian rights.
Additionally, Mawlawi Hassan Akhund, the Prime Minister of the Taliban government, has also emphasized the importance of supporting the Palestinian Muslims, stating that their suffering must remain at the forefront of global attention.
