Taliban Official Zabihullah Amiri Shot Dead in Badakhshan Ambush

Zabihullah Amiri, the head of information and culture for the Taliban government in Badakhshan, was killed in an armed attack in the Baharak district. Zabihullah Amiri was fatally shot during an armed assault while traveling along the Baharak–Faizabad route. A source within the Taliban confirmed Amiri’s death and stated that investigations into the details of the incident are underway.

According to a statement from the Taliban’s security command in Badakhshan, Amiri was targeted by two armed individuals on a motorcycle. His guards responded to the attack, resulting in the death of one assailant.
