Details of the Attack on the Baharak-Faizabad Road

A source within the Taliban government has confirmed Amiri’s death, stating that inquiries into the specifics of the incident are still underway.

According to a statement from the Badakhshan police command, Zabihullah Amiri was targeted by two armed assailants on motorcycles while traveling along the Baharak-Faizabad route, resulting in his death.

One Assailant Killed in the Exchange

The police command’s statement mentioned that Amiri’s bodyguards responded to the attackers, during which one of the assailants was killed.

The Taliban reported that the second assailant managed to flee, and operations to identify and apprehend him are ongoing.
