Taliban Leader Affirms Border Security Amid Recent Clashes

The top military commander of the Taliban government, Faizullah Fetrat, visited the Zibak district of Badakhshan province to emphasize the readiness of security forces to defend the borders. This visit and the aggressive stance come in the wake of recent clashes in the Tophana-Chitral border area, which resulted in the deaths of five infiltrating armed individuals.

Senior Taliban Military Official Visits Border Area

Faziluddin Fetrat, the top military commander of the Taliban, traveled to Zibak district to assess the security situation and border activities firsthand. During his visit, he stated that security forces are fully prepared to defend against any individual or group attempting to challenge the stability and security of Afghanistan.

Details of the Fatal Clashes in the Tophana Area

This military assertion follows intense fighting in the Tophana-Chitral border region where security forces clashed with an armed group. Media reports indicate that the attackers sought to enter Zibak district through the Shah Salim route but encountered strong resistance from border forces, leading to a confrontation.

Casualties Among Attackers and Their Retreat to Neighboring Territory

During the armed clash, at least five members of the attacking group were killed. According to reports from officials of the Islamic Emirate, the remaining members of this group retreated under heavy losses and fled into Pakistani territory.

Clear Warning Regarding Response to Border Threats

The Taliban’s chief military officer emphasized that protecting the country’s borders is a red line for security forces. He warned that any attempts, movements, or plans by various groups aimed at creating insecurity and instability within Afghan territory will be met with a swift, decisive response from defensive forces.
