Ms. Katarina Ritz, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Afghanistan, announced on Monday (November 26) through a post on her official page on X (formerly Twitter) the start of an immediate relief effort for the victims of the recent earthquake in Kunar province. Ritz wrote that following the devastating earthquake in Kunar, Red Cross teams, in close cooperation with the Afghan Red Crescent, stepped in to distribute cash to 1,500 affected families in the Nurgal district. This action is part of a rapid response to the recent humanitarian disaster in the eastern provinces of the country, where thousands have been killed and injured.
