Exports Through Herat Ports Surge by 98% Exports through the Islam Qala and Turghandi ports in Herat have seen a 98% increase over the past year compared to the previous year, according to officials from the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment. Mohammad Yusuf Amin, head of the chamber, reported that the exports comprised animal products, agricultural goods, and domestically produced items, which were sent to neighboring countries, Central Asia, the United Arab Emirates, Europe, and the United States. Amin attributed the surge in exports to several factors, including the signing of mining contracts, increased domestic production of higher-quality goods, improvements in the quality of agricultural products, enhanced security along major highways, and the provision of better facilities for businesspeople. A significant portion of these exports was transported via land ports and railways, Amin added.
