Surge in Cancer Cases Reported in Herat Province

The incidence of cancer in Herat province has surged by 30% compared to the previous year.

Farooq Ahmed Sediqi, Head of the Oncology Department, highlighted the alarming rise in cancer patients, particularly noting the prevalence of breast and esophageal cancer.

Dr. Sediqi emphasized the growing prevalence of cancer, urging families to prioritize medical care.

Over the past four years, Herat’s provincial hospital has recorded at least 16,000 cases of cancer. Dr. Sediqi expressed concern over the 30% increase in cancer patients in Herat, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
