The US Department of Defense announced in its report to the country’s Congress that 12 Afghan civilians were killed in an airstrike near Kabul airport last year.
The Pentagon has said that 12 civilians were killed and five others were injured due to US military operations in 2021.
CNN, citing the Pentagon, reported that 10 of these civilians were killed on August 29, 2021, a day before the end of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, during an army drone attack in Kabul.
CNN added that seven of the ten civilians killed in this incident were children.
This report states that the Ministry of Defense has compensated the victims of the January 8 incident in Afghanistan in 2021.
According to this report, the US Department of Defense said it would cooperate with the surviving family members of those killed in the drone attack on August 29. Still, this report has confirmed that no amount has been paid to that family.
