Significant Increase in Exports in One Month

The National Statistics and Information Authority of the Taliban government announced a significant increase in the country’s export sector in the month of Mizan this year.

According to an analysis of this authority’s figures, the total value of the country’s exports in the month of Mizan has reached 274.9 million dollars. In comparison, the total value of exports in the month of Sunbula this year was 229.8 million dollars. The analysis indicates that the export value in the month of Mizan of the year 1404 increased by 45.1 million dollars compared to the month of Sunbula of the same year.

Import Situation and Trade Balance

In contrast to the growth in exports, the statistics for the country’s imports in the month of Mizan showed a decrease. The total value of the country’s imports in the month of Mizan reached 1 billion and 168.4 million dollars.

This authority announced that the value of imports in the month of Sunbula was 1 billion and 232.7 million dollars; therefore, a decrease of 64.2 million dollars in the value of imports in the month of Mizan of the year 1404 was observed compared to the month of Sunbula of the same year.

Despite the growth in exports, a comparison between the total exports (274.9 million dollars) and the total imports (1,168.4 million dollars) shows that Afghanistan’s trade balance continues to face a gap of over 1 billion dollars.

Key Trade Partners of Afghanistan

The figures published by the National Statistics and Information Authority indicate that in the month of Mizan, Afghanistan’s largest exports were to countries: India, Pakistan, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates; and the largest imports were from countries: Iran, China, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates.
