Otunbayeva emphasized the critical role of journalists in fostering an informed, progressive, and prosperous society, highlighting their importance across key sectors such as education, environment, health, economy, and governance. “Their courage is noteworthy, and it is essential that these heroes are encouraged, supported, and protected,” she stated.
Following the Taliban’s takeover, stringent restrictions have been imposed on media operations throughout Afghanistan.
