The Minister of Energy and Water of the Taliban government announced that Ashraf Ghani’s government had not paid 35 million dollars of electricity debt to Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Iran.

Abdul Latif Mansour, Minister of Energy and Water of the interim government of the Taliban, said, “Energy, water, and electricity institutions in Afghanistan are trying to be integrated into one institution. Three plans have been created regarding investment in the energy and electricity generation sector. With their implementation, the problems of production and Electricity supply in Afghanistan will be fixed to a large extent.”

The Minister of Energy and Water of the interim government of the Taliban stated that “Ashraf Ghani’s government has not paid more than 35 million dollars in electricity debts to the countries of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Iran. Part of these debts has been paid. The contracts for the supply of imported electricity with neighboring countries have been extended.”
