Taliban appointed a suicide bomber as vice chancellor of Kabul University

Reports have emerged that Hafiz Obeidullah Obeidah, recently appointed by the Taliban as the Vice Chancellor of Kabul University, was previously apprehended as a suicide bomber in Kandahar.

Sources familiar with the matter indicate that Obeidah, a Taliban member, was detained in Kandahar province in 2017 prior to the detonation of his car bomb.

Further details reveal that Hafez Obaidullah Obideh hails from Helmand province. After his arrest in Kandahar, he was reportedly transferred to Bagram prison, where he served approximately four years.

Currently, Obeidullah Obeidah holds the position of Financial and Administrative Vice President at Kabul University.
