The Taliban has condemned recent statements by Israeli authorities regarding the construction of a Jewish synagogue inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Taliban’s caretaker government issued a strong condemnation of usurping statements by Israeli authorities regarding plans to build a synagogue within the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. In its statement, the Taliban said these remarks demonstrate that the Zionist regime does not respect holy sites, laws, or international principles, and that such actions provoke the sentiments of Muslims worldwide.
The Taliban further stated that it considers the Al-Aqsa Mosque and all of Palestine to rightfully belong to the Palestinian people, recognizing Al-Aqsa as the first Qibla for Muslims. The group declared that any attempts by the Zionist regime to seize land in Al-Quds (Jerusalem) are illegal and in violation of international norms.
The statement also called on Islamic countries and international organizations to take a stand against the illegal and brutal aggression of the the Zionist regime. The Taliban urged these entities to act to stop “genocide and human rights violations” in Gaza and called on the usurping Israel to cease making irresponsible statements.
