Pakistan’s Ongoing Military Operations Target Militant Threats from Afghanistan

The Pakistani Ministry of Information has reiterated that the military operation named ‘Ghazb al-Lahq’ aimed at countering terrorism threats from Afghanistan is ongoing, resulting in the deaths of 28 militants.

Continuing Pakistan’s Military Operations Against Terrorism

In its latest statement, the Ministry of Information announced that the military campaign dubbed ‘Ghazb al-Lahq’ will continue in response to terrorism threats originating from Afghanistan. Reports indicate that 28 militants were killed in airstrikes at three locations along the border with Afghanistan.

Measures Taken During Airstrikes

The ministry also noted that significant quantities of weapons and ammunition stored in shelters have been destroyed during the operations, while Pakistani forces have implemented precautionary measures to protect civilians.

Taliban’s Reaction to Airstrikes

In response, Taliban officials have strongly condemned the recent bombings in Kunar and Paktika provinces, reporting an increase in civilian casualties as a result of these attacks. The Pakistani Ministry of Information has labeled Afghanistan as a ‘center of terrorism’ and claimed that the security issues facing Pakistan stem from Afghan territory.

Civilian Casualties Amid Conflicts

While Pakistan asserts that its strikes are precisely targeted at militants, United Nations reports indicate that from 1404 to Jawza 1405, approximately 499 Afghan civilians were killed and 1,216 others injured. Notably, in an air raid on the ‘Omide’ medical center in Kabul on 25th of Woot 1404, 269 civilians lost their lives, many of whom were patients at the facility.
