Over 200 Children Rendered Homeless by Herat Earthquake

A report on the aftermath of the Herat earthquake, issued by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), sheds light on the staggering number of orphaned children in the wake of this disaster.

OCHA’s recent assessment reveals that 245 children in Herat have been left without homes following the earthquake.

OCHA reports that United Nations partners and non-governmental organizations are actively providing assistance to the victims of the recent seismic events in Herat, including these children.

Furthermore, the organization has announced that humanitarian partners associated with the United Nations have jointly requested $93.6 million in funding to aid the victims of the Herat earthquake.
