Nabil: Afghanistan is paying a heavy price for Khalilzad’s proxy peace with the Taliban

Ariana News Agency: The former Afghan National Security Chief said the Afghan people were paying a heavy price for US proxy peace.

Rahmatullah Nabil, Afghanistan’s former national security chief, said the current situation in the country was the result of a deal and proxy peace between Khalilzad, the US special envoy for Afghanistan and the Taliban.

“Unfortunately, Afghans are paying a heavy price for Dr. Khalilzad’s proxy peace,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

The remarks come as the war has recently escalated in many parts of Afghanistan.
