In a recent statement, Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, emphasized the necessity of Islamabad maintaining constructive relations with Kabul amidst the backdrop of Pakistan’s air raids on the Khost and Paktika provinces.
Khan, who is currently serving a prison sentence, highlighted that effective dialogue, irrespective of the governing party in Afghanistan, is crucial for addressing the challenges faced by both nations.
During his tenure as Prime Minister, Khan was instrumental in facilitating discussions that ultimately concluded the two-decade-long conflict in Afghanistan through negotiations between the Taliban and the United States. He further pointed out that, under his leadership, the Taliban had committed to addressing the issues posed by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
