Abdul Latif Mansur

Abdul Latif Mansoor, the Taliban’s Minister for Rural Rehabilitation and Development, has stated that Afghanistan will never permit the dominance of any country, emphasizing the desire for independent relations with Pakistan. These remarks come amid recent tensions between the two nations.

Minister of the Taliban: Afghanistan Will Never Submit to Foreign Domination

Abdul Latif Mansoor, the Taliban’s Minister for Rural Rehabilitation and Development, emphasized Afghanistan’s interest in establishing relations with Pakistan during remarks made in Paktia province. However, he asserted that the nation would never accept the dominance of any other state, noting that throughout its history, Afghanistan has resisted subjugation.

Mansoor referred to Afghanistan’s past conflicts, stating that countries standing against powerful forces do not accept dependencies on others. He also highlighted that Afghanistan seeks Islamic relations with its neighbors but should not expect to act as a subordinate.

Independence and Response to Threats

The Taliban minister warned that if attacks on Afghanistan continue, Pakistan will face a decisive and severe response. He also pointed to certain countries attempting to impede Afghanistan’s progress.

This commentary comes at a time when relations between the Taliban and Pakistan are under strain due to recent tensions. Islamabad claims that the Taliban allows the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to operate from Afghan territory, a claim rejected by Kabul.

Allegations of Supporting Mischief

Taliban officials have repeatedly accused Pakistan of supporting individuals who create discord within Afghanistan. This situation underscores the deeper challenges in the bilateral relations between the two countries.
