Zabiullah Mujahid, a spokesperson for the Taliban, stated in an interview that the situation in Afghanistan has improved since the withdrawal of American troops, and now Afghans should focus on rebuilding their country.
Zabiullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban government, shared in a discussion with Indian media outlet ‘RT’ that Afghanistan is experiencing a noticeably better situation five years after the departure of U.S. forces. He added that this withdrawal has contributed to the country’s independence, and the responsibility for rebuilding Afghanistan now rests with its citizens.
Mujahid also expressed that Kabul seeks to establish normal diplomatic ties with Washington and emphasized the necessity of resuming diplomatic operations in both countries. He stressed that for improved relations, U.S. policies towards Afghanistan need to change, and sanctions should be lifted.
Regarding the Taliban’s internal policies and restrictions placed on women and girls, Mujahid stated that the group does not believe changes in these areas are necessary for the recognition of its government. He highlighted the importance of respecting religious beliefs and the specific laws of Afghanistan.
The Taliban spokesperson further noted that Kabul is advocating for peace in the region and will not support any country, including Pakistan, in conflicts. These statements reflect the Taliban’s efforts to maintain stability and reduce tensions in the area.
