Taliban Claims Improved Conditions in Afghanistan Post-U.S. Troop Withdrawal

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban, stated in an interview that the situation in Afghanistan has improved since the departure of U.S. troops, and now Afghan people must focus on rebuilding their country.

Mujahid: Afghanistan’s Situation Clearly Improved Post-U.S. Withdrawal

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban government, stated in a discussion with India’s ‘RT’ that Afghanistan is experiencing a notably better situation five years after the withdrawal of American forces. He added that this withdrawal has contributed to the country’s independence, and it is now the Afghan people’s responsibility to rebuild Afghanistan.

Taliban Emphasizes Need for Diplomatic Relations with the U.S.

Mujahid also expressed that Kabul seeks to establish normal diplomatic relations with Washington, claiming that the resumption of diplomatic activities between the two countries is essential. He stressed that for the situation to improve, U.S. policies regarding Afghanistan need to change, including the lifting of sanctions.

Mujahid: No Need for Internal Policy Changes for Recognition

Regarding the Taliban’s internal policies and restrictions placed on women and girls, he stated that the group does not see the need for changes in these areas to gain recognition for its government. Mujahid emphasized the importance of respecting religious beliefs and Afghanistan’s specific laws.
