According to this report, the United States of America approved only 4,775 asylum seekers out of 77,000 Afghan refugees as of February 12.
After the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, the American government evacuated more than 130 thousand people from the Kabul airport; most of them were transferred to the United States, but until now, many of these asylum seekers did not have legal documents to stay in the United States.
