Shah Mahmood Qureshi warns against building foreign military bases in Pakistan

Ariana News Agency: Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi: The United States will not be allowed to build military bases in Pakistan.

“The United States will not be allowed to build a military base in Pakistan and Pakistan will never be willing to talk to the Americans about it,” Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi told a news conference, according to the Pakistan-based Jang newspaper.

He added: “Now this issue has attracted everyone’s attention in Pakistan and the majority of Pakistanis are also concerned about this issue, but American officials should know that it is not possible for foreign countries to establish a military-intelligence base in Pakistan.” Their intelligence is to conduct military operations against Afghanistan from inside Pakistan.

He added: “The United States has failed after several years of military presence in Afghanistan and in the current situation where the US government is clearly facing unresolved problems in Afghanistan, it wants to involve Pakistan in this complicated game.”
