Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, chief of staff of the Pakistan Army, said the performance of the Taliban-led government has not been satisfactory so far, but we must be patient and adaptable.
He said the decades-long conflict in Afghanistan had hurt Pakistan’s economy, society and security, so Pakistan wants to work closely with the international community to pursue peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Bajwa added that the cessation of foreign aid and the continuation of sanctions had created a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
According to statistics, more than half of Afghanistan’s population is currently starving.
