Gaza 550x295 - Baqir Izzatbegovic Condemns Zionism's Actions in Gaza, Draws Controversial Comparisons to Nazism

Baqir Izzatbegovic, the head of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Action Party, in a sharp message on his Facebook page, condemned the crimes of Zionism in Gaza, equating Nazism and Zionism, and referred to Gaza as the largest camp…

Strong condemnation of genocide in Gaza

Baqir Izzatbegovic, the head of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Action Party and son of the late Ali Izzatbegovic, on July 29 on his Facebook page, strongly condemned the crimes of the Zionist state in Gaza, referencing the millennia-long history of persecution of the Jewish people. He recalled the hardships experienced by Jews throughout history—including persecution, expulsion, forced displacement, confinement in Jewish ghettos, and the most horrific genocide known as the Holocaust—and questioned how a people who have endured so much allow their leaders to commit genocide in Gaza. Izzatbegovic then emphasized: They must equate Nazism and Zionism, so {the Jewish people} should not equate the Nazis’ lie about the superman with the lies of the Zionists about the chosen people. Gaza is the largest camp that humanity has witnessed throughout its torturous history.

Prediction of the fall of Israel’s global credibility

This Bosnian leader, after announcing statistics of martyrs and the wounded in Gaza, made a decisive prediction about Israel’s future. He wrote: The destruction and loss of Israel’s credibility and influence on a global scale will be evident. This fall will be more apparent than the destruction of Gaza. The political and religious leaders of Israel, who consider the Jewish people the chosen people, will be responsible for this collapse.

Strong reaction from the Israeli ambassador; distortion of history

After Baqir Izzatbegovic’s statements, which have around 80,000 followers on his Facebook and are translated into various languages, Galit Plag, the Israeli regime’s ambassador accredited to Bosnia and Herzegovina (based in Albania), reacted. In a letter addressed to Izzatbegovic, the Israeli ambassador considered the comparison of Zionism with Nazism to be deeply insulting. He called this comparison erroneous and emphasized that the genocide of Jews during the Nazi era was not the result of any conflict, but rather, their only crime was their identity. The Israeli ambassador argued that equating the genocidal ideology of Nazism with Zionism (the national movement of the Jewish people for autonomy in their ancient land) is a distortion of history and disrespect to the victims of the Holocaust. This letter was published by the Ahamas website.
