Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting foreign minister of the Taliban government, warned Islamabad that this country has even violated the airspace of Afghanistan’s capital, and that the Taliban considers their right to defend their territory to be preserved.
Muttaqi, speaking at the graduation ceremony of the Diplomatic Institute in Kabul, stated: Over the past four years, there have been continuous aggressions by the Pakistani government which violated Afghan territory, to the extent that these aggressions also breached the territory of Kabul, forcing the Taliban to react.
He described Pakistan’s recent four-year policies overall as aggressive and indicated that Taliban officials strongly oppose recent actions by Islamabad, especially regarding the expulsion of migrants and border attacks.
The acting foreign minister of the Taliban further emphasized that despite these aggressions, the Taliban seeks good relations and positive engagement with the entire world, including Pakistan. However, he firmly added: We consider our right to defend our sovereignty and territory to be preserved. These statements display the Taliban’s firm defensive stance in the event of continued tensions.
Muttaqi concluded by saying that a specific circle within the Pakistani army is trying to disrupt the friendly relations between the two countries, and these circles have been the main cause of recent tensions.
