Taliban Says It Has Neutralized U.S. Threat Against Neighboring Countries Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Taliban, stated that Afghanistan has been liberated from U.S. occupation through the efforts of the Afghan people. Speaking about regional security, Stanekzai said that the U.S. had previously posed a threat to neighboring countries such as Iran, Pakistan, China, and Russia, but added that this threat no longer exists. He emphasized that Afghanistan is progressing toward political and economic independence and encouraged both national and international business communities to take advantage of the current investment opportunities in the country. Stanekzai also called on Afghanistan’s neighboring nations to engage in economic and political cooperation with the Taliban government.
