Taliban says foreign forces shifted to “soft/ideological war” after military defeat, stressing knowledge and Islamic values.
Taliban: Foreign Invaders Have Turned to a Soft War in Afghanistan Khalilur Rehman Haqqani, the Minister of Refugee Affairs for the Taliban, stated during a ceremony in Paktia: “After their defeat in the military field in Afghanistan, foreign forces have now shifted to waging a soft and ideological war.” Haqqani stressed the importance of acquiring knowledge, adding, “The battle of ideas can only be won through knowledge and adherence to Islamic values.” He also underscored the need for unity and solidarity among the people, saying, “All religious, ethnic, and social activities should be conducted in coordination with scholars, elders, and local authorities. Religious schools must serve as a cornerstone for the community’s support.” According to a statement from the Taliban’s Ministry of Refugee Affairs, Haqqani urged ethnic groups not to be swayed by un-Islamic slogans, advising them to hold Sharia as the ultimate standard. He emphasized that both security and human rights are protected under Islamic Sharia.
