Russia to Remove Taliban from List of Terrorist Organizations

Russia plans to remove the Taliban from its list of terrorist organizations, pending completion of legal formalities, according to Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s special presidential envoy for Afghanistan.

Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s special presidential envoy for Afghanistan, announced that the decision to remove the Taliban from Russia’s list of terrorist organizations has been made at the highest levels of government. Speaking at a press conference following the Moscow consultative meeting, Kabulov emphasized that while the decision is in its final stages, it still requires completion of legal formalities. He also stated that an official announcement regarding the Taliban’s removal from the list is expected in the near future.
