Yamini Mishra, Amnesty International’s South Asia director, said the window of opportunity to negotiate on Afghan women’s rights was closing rapidly.
“Women and girls in Afghanistan have almost disappeared from public life since the Taliban came to power,” she said.
He added that the international community should use all available leverage to pressure Taliban officials to respect the rights of women and girls, including the right to education, employment and equal participation in political and public life.
