US senators call for a review of the security situation of Afghan refugees

Several senior Republican senators have called on the US Federal Bureau of Investigation to reconsider the case of refugees evacuated from Afghanistan.

The senators sent a letter saying Pentagon officials had told them that on May 4, the AFB had received extensive information about all Afghan immigrants identified as security threats.

The letter called on the AFBI to reconsider and locate Afghan asylum seekers.

The call comes amid growing concerns about transferring some extremist elements to the United States.
