القاعده 550x295 - United Nations: Al-Qaeda's communication ability has increased with the Taliban's control over Afghanistan

United Nations experts said in a report to the Security Council of this organization that at the same time the Taliban took over Afghanistan, Al-Qaeda’s ability to establish relations with its people increased.

According to the Associated Press, the United Nations experts who spoke about terrorist threats in the world in general said that the dangers of ISIS and Al-Qaeda in the conflict areas are still severe.

They warned that until these conflicts are resolved, they will increase the ability to carry out terrorist operations in other parts of the world.

UN experts say that the continued activities of ISIS and Al-Qaeda in areas of Africa, Central and South Asia, Syria, and Iraq have caused “deep concern.”

According to the report of UN experts: “The increase in Ayman al-Zawahiri’s ability to communicate with the Taliban’s dominance and the consolidation of the power of Al-Qaeda’s key allies in Afghanistan have been simultaneous.”

The report adds: “The international context is favorable for al-Qaeda, and the group aims to reassert itself as the leader of the global jihad.”
