The United Nations Office for the Protection of Children (Save the Children) announced that “out of 24.4 million people in need in Afghanistan, 13 million are children.”
The department published a report and said, “Based on forecasts, between July and September of this year, at least 18.9 people, including 9.2 million children, will face an emergency or crisis of food insecurity.”
According to this organization, 97 percent of Afghans are at risk of falling below the poverty line this year.
The report added that 1.1 million children under five are acutely malnourished.
According to the report, 8 million children need support to access education in Afghanistan. Also, 10 million children risk leaving education if teachers are not paid.
Meanwhile, UNICEF has announced that 4.5 million children in Afghanistan need mental health care.
