Ariana News Agency: UNESCO officials in Kabul and Taliban representatives reviewed the literacy situation in Afghanistan.
On World Literacy Day, UNESCO organized a meeting in Kabul with the representatives of education departments of different provinces of Afghanistan.
In this meeting, Patricia McPhillips, head of the UNESCO office in Kabul, said: “World Literacy Day is a day that reminds us that millions of people, both women and men, are deprived of literacy in Afghanistan.”
World Literacy Day was celebrated in Afghanistan while the sixth grade and above girls have not been able to go to school for more than a year.
